Managing local soil health issues for sustainable crop and pasture production.
What’s it all about?
This field day is the third session of a program which provides an opportunity for local farmers to better understand key drivers of soil health, participate in soil sampling and interpretation of their own soil test results and benefit from specialist advice to better match nutrient inputs to crop and soil requirements.
Presenter David Hall is a locally based agricultural consultant with extensive experience in plant nutrition and soil fertility working with dairy farmers, grain-growers and graziers.
Topics will include:
- Understanding soil health and declining fertility
- What is a compost and is it all the same?
- How much compost to apply and what are the benefits
- On-farm demonstration of spreading equipment

Farmers who are interested in improving/maintaining soil health for sustainable & profitable crop production
Cost: FREE – includes smoko and lunch.
Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing for paddock session after lunch.
