Described as poetic, mesmerising, playful and puzzling, the artworks of Jennifer Turpin and Michaelie Crawford highlight the elemental forces of nature and communicate an understanding of the natural environment. You’re invited to an evening with Jennifer Turpin as she discusses her kinetic public art sculptures and large scale environmental installations.
About the Artist
Jennifer Turpin and Michaelie Crawford are a public artists with 15 years experience creating kinetic installations engaging water, wind and light as sculptural media. The artworks are a dynamic response to the specificity of the sites they inhabit. Working with nature’s elemental engergies, the artworks are rhythmic, responsive and transformative ‘performances’ in the everyday life of the city. Turpin and Crawford have worked collaboratively on projects in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, regional NSW and Singapore.
