Brisbane Valley Kilcoy Landcare Inc
In 2015, Brisbane Valley Kilcoy Landcare used enhanced planting techniques to improve water quality in the Kilcoy region and reduce sediment flow from stormwater.
The project was the first attempt at planting wetland species in the region and resulted in a 100% survival rate of the water tolerant plant species.
The project included removing non-native weeds and grasses, and regeneration of existing native wetland species. The success of the project has led to an increase in frog, reptile and bird numbers, enriching the area's biodiversity.
