Teacher, researcher, visionary, and mentor – Peter Oliver is walking, talking and living the Healthy Waterways Vision.
A unqiue and inspirational teacher, Peter uses his many talents to provide environmental education that is delivered with imagination, enthusiasm and fun! Peter’s musical talents and larger-than-life personality have come together to produce engaging songs, most notably the “Dugong Rock”.
One of his major achievements was setting up the first Mary River Waterwatch group in the late 1980’s. Peter also led the development of the first Catchment Management Plan for the Pumicestone Catchment and championed the need for research into Lyngbya.
From writing catchment management strategies, organising and speaking at conferences, writing numerous publications and engaging the community, Peter is a true champion of our waterways.
